A Senior High School (SHS) graduate from San Carlos City topped the Provincial Scholarship Program (PSP) Qualifying Test with 127 passers.
The qualifying test was held at Pangasinan National High School in Lingayen and at Juan G. Macaraeg National High School in Binalonan on May 4.
John King A. Cano, SHS graduate of Pangalangan National High School (PNHS) under General Academic Strand (GAS) ranked first among 925 examinees of the abovementioned examination released on June 4 through the official facebook account of the Provincial Scholarship Program (PSP) of Pangasinan.
Cano also topped his class last 2018 graduation rites.
“He is a very brilliant but quiet student,” described PNHS Senior High School Coordinator Stenili B. Samson.
Placing fifth in the qualifying test was also a San Carlenian, Carl Vincent C. Aquino of Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation SHS.
A total of 18 San Carlenian scholars will receive PHP 8,000 each every semester, or PHP 16,000 for an academic year. They may enroll in a four or five-year degree program in any public or private institution of higher learning in the country.
