Anchored on its formidable defensive-offensive ends, Warriors came up clutch to the finals after a loss opener against Davao Region and added R1’s eighth gold in the medal tally. Ma. Theresa Samonte, Christine Joy Malong, Kristine Angeles and Angela Mamaradlo of San Carlos City Division provided the drives to secure the hard-earned victory over big-manned Visayan counterparts. Central Visayas, meanwhile, settled for the silver medal after failing the final round.
On the other hand, Davao and National Capital Regions battled for bronze medal after losing to the finalists. “I together with my players made a history,” said yellow-clad coach Fernan Garcia.
Php 15, 000 from SCC Division, Php 5, 000 from LGU for each player and a total of Php 80, 000 cash incentive awaits the winning team.
