San Carlos City Paragames Swimmers net glory for the Region

What better way to beat the blistering summer heat than a dip in the cool blue waters of a swimming pool? However, at this year’s Palarong Pambansa, conquering the heat is not just a case of simple dipping and frolicking. Rather, it plays along the lines of lanes and competition.

And our very own San Carlos City Special Warriors proved to be insurmountable heat warriors, as they displayed their tenacity in the Swimming division of the Para Games and blow the swimming games out of the water. Four of our commendable athletes proved to be successful and garnered a whopping total of 10 medals in the said division.

Competitive swimming, all on itself, is a sport that requires brazenness, unparalleled skill, and ideally, an able body. However, instead of wallowing in self-pity and self-loathing, our Para Game Swimmers chose to persevere and use their athletic potential for the greater good, in spite of their profound disability. This renders them deserving for extolling and recognition, as they are our city’s bastions of resilience and paragons of hope.
