The 15-year old Tagorda from Quetegan, Mangatarem Pangasinan, a perennial medalist in the Regional Taekwondo Competition used her vast experience head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques to pile up the winning points besting other taekwondo athletes from 17 athletic associations representing the 17 regions of the Philippines.
Veronica is one of the most bemedalled members of the Region I Taekwondo Team and a fierce competitor not only in Kyorogi event, but also in Poomsae competition. She won gold medal in R1AA ’18 Kyorogi event, and also bagged gold in Poomsae competition in R1AA ’17 edition.
Kyorugi is an actual fight between two competitors using the offensive and defensive skills acquired through the practice of Taekwondo. It is not only sparring but also a version of real fighting. While Poomsae is the style of conduct which expresses mental and physical refinements as well as the principles of offense and defense resulting from cultivation of Taekwondo spirit and techniques. Veronica’s intense and rigorous trainings for almost a year paid-off who happened to be a taekwondo athlete since her elementary grade.
In addition to the all-out support given by the San Carlos City Division headed by SDS Dr. Shiela Marie A. Primicias will certainly give a cash prize for her dominating performance.
