Podium Finish

The busy streets of one of the tourist destinations of the country was once again alive. The colors of blue, green, red, yellow, and white were strewn all over the pavement.

For the untrained eyes, the view was like the typical scene for a grand town fiesta, or a mass demonstration of a massive flash dance or street dance. Leading the wave of colors were the Drum and Bugle Corps that provided a truly festive mood. The hypnotic and irresistible beat of the percussion set the ambiance of fun and excitement. Spectators lined the side streets like avid constituents who patiently waited for the arrival of their local heroes and heroines. But make no mistake, the scene was different from what most people expected to see. Alaminos city bore witness to the massive horde of student- athletes from all over Region I. Donning their vivid colors and crests, athletes marched under the careful watch of the mighty sun. And just like the Germanic tribes of the olden times, athletes went into a frenzy with their heart-pounding cheers and chants of motivation.
And at the middle of this seemingly infinite revelry, one can spot the League of Legends that roared the loudest. Marching proud in their conspicuous shade of blue uniform, the warriors of San Carlos City, led by 2 visionaries, Mayor Joseres S. Resuello and Dr. Sheila Marie A. Primicias, the Schools Division Superintendent, straddled with heads held up high. Unfazed by the scorching heat of the sun, they roared and signaled their effervescent presence.

They chanted the loudest. They marched with much gusto and confidence. They made their presence felt. And they came not just to participate, but to dominate.

The roaring and rising tigers of the North arrived, and they are more than ready and prepared to face their opponents. With adrenaline pumped through their veins, they were suited to have a podium finish.
