News BP Editorial Staff screens would-be writers

The Balon Palapag Editorial Staff of San Carlos City Division with the supervision of Mrs. Ellen C. De Guzman, Public Schools District Supervisor, screened would-be writers who came from the different elementary and secondary schools. The screening was held in the morning of May 4 at the Siringan Sanctuary Conference Hall, San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

Mrs. De Guzman, PSDS In-Charge of Balon Palapag, welcomed the applicants. She gave words of encouragement and challenged them to give their best shot for the screening.

Mrs. Virginia Diola, Editor-in-Chief of Balon Palapag, shared some background and insights about the e-magazine of San Carlos City Division. She said, “We really need additional writers especially now that there are lots of activities in our division.” She gave emphasis on the mechanics of the screening. She also mentioned about what to expect being a BP writer.

As a screening activity, the applicants were required to make two news articles and one feature or sports article. The screening process lasted for three hours.
