Blessing of the Siringan Sanctuary, the newly-improved swimming pool site situated at Central I Elementary School, was held on February 9, 2018.
The ceremony which was started with a Eucharistic Celebration was attended by City Mayor Joseres Resuello, Department of Education (DepEd) officials of the Division of San Carlos City headed by Dr. Sheila Marie A. Primicias, Schools Division Superintendent; Engr. Marcelo M. Casillan, Property Management Consultant and major donor; Hon. Enrico Dale, ABC President; Hon. Elpidio Fermin Jr., City Councilor; Division Personnel; School Heads and officers of the different associations of the division.
After the ribbon cutting, a program followed wherein Mayor Resuello, in his speech, emphasized the need to have passion if someone likes to do something. Just like the Siringan Sanctuary, the secret of its realization is the passion that was invested in it. He said that to reach one’s goals, one must possess passion.
In the ceremony, Dr. Primicias likewise delivered a message and she mentioned about how the swimming pool site was turned over to the custody of the division, the existing facilities and amenities therein and the plan for its further improvement and functionality.
According to Dr. Primicias, when Engr. Casillan turned over the custody of the property, she conducted a meeting with all the presidents of the different associations in the division and asked their help in improving the area, the Siringan Sanctuary, specifically in putting up “kubos” or concrete shades. School heads’ assistance was also solicited by donating bags of cement. All utility personnel of the division were also tapped in improving the sanctuary with the guidance of school heads.
Engr. Casillan shared Dr. Primicias’ dream of making Central I not only as the mother of Pangasinan but the entire region in relation to innovative learning experiences through the Siringan Sanctuary. In his inspirational message, he persuaded everyone to adopt the way of teaching through the Internet and make the Siringan a world-class sanctuary.
At present, Siringan Sanctuary showcases an Olympic-sized swimming pool, kiddie pool, mini pond, function hall, guest rooms, kitchen, offices, kubos or shades, and comfort rooms with shower areas.
Plans for further improvement of the sanctuary include the putting up of Science Room/Museum, a classroom extension wherein children can view the planetarium and exhibits, e-Library and playhouse. Also part of the plan is to make Central I have air-conditioned rooms with SMART TV for digitized teaching and learning.
“All of our plans will become possible for the own good of our children,” said Dr. Primicias.
